What each stage is actually for

The syllabus is the board’s. How much of the day is spent sitting down is ours, and it changes a lot between Nursery and Class XII.

Stream allotment is on Class X board marks plus a subject counselling session with the parent present. Seats per stream are listed below.

Assessment

How a child is marked, and when you hear about it

Term one Periodic Test 1 & Half-Yearly July and September. Report card handed over in person at the October PTM — not emailed.
Term two Periodic Test 2 & Annual December and March. Classes IX to XII sit pre-boards in December on the full board pattern.
Internal weightage 20 marks, split three ways Periodic test 10, notebook 5, subject enrichment 5 — the CBSE scheme, published at the start of the year.
If a child slips A call within a week Any drop of more than 15% in a subject triggers a call home and a remedial slot, before the next test.

Academic support

What happens when a subject is not going well

Remedial hours Tuesday and Thursday after school, small groups of six, taught by the same subject teacher. No extra fee.
Counselling A full-time counsellor on each campus. Children can book a slot themselves without going through a teacher.
Career guidance From Class IX. Aptitude testing, stream counselling with parents, and an alumni panel each November.
Library and lab access 8,400 books, open till 4pm. Labs stay open for Class XII project work through the December break.
